This high relief is entitled ‘First Visit’. The sculpture was commissioned by Arts Care, Northern Ireland on behalf of the Northern Ireland Health Service and secured through open competition.

The panel is located in the Maternity Unit of the new Causeway Hospital in Coleraine, Northern Ireland.

Appropriately for its setting, it depicts a mother feeding a newborn child while being visited by three other children.

Carved from cherrywood and framed in ash, it measures 122cm x 86cm x 8 cm.
